Hi All. I am new here and a noobie. I am going to add an Vertex 2 60GB to my AMD Phenom II X4 desktop pc and found out my raid controller is already using AHCI with my current Windows 7 64bit install. Can I just use a Windows system backup and restore it onto the Vertex SSD or should I just do a fresh install? Thanks in advance.

A fresh install is usually recommended because restoring an image may result in improper partition alignment, which reduces performance and lifespan.
