Noobie question about connecting a CD drive.

Hi, I am connect two CD drives to my MSI k8n neo2 plat. mobo. I have already connected the 2 IDE cables to the mobo, and the two power cords to the power supply. Is this all that need to be plugged in? The drives came with a smaller cord for each one. I think that they are sound cords, or something. What are they called? And do they need to be plugged in? Do I need a sound card to plug them into? It would be highly appreciated if you could explain in easy terms for a noob like myself. THANKS!!

That other cord is a sound cord of sorts, and isn't really used anymore. Make sure the drives are jumpered correctly, so that if they are on the same line one is master and one is slave, and they should work.
