Noob raid and sata question

Never used raid or sata before but some beffy question have amassed. I'm installing 2 MAXTOR 200GB 7200RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive on this puter and a Adaptec Serial ATA Raid 1210SA sata controller, along with a fresh copy of windows XP pro. I was wandering how I could make windows see them both as one logical drive and not 2 seprearat ones. It's better to ask questions before hand and avoid the mess. Also any suggestions on a dif harddrive brand or controller whould be cool also.

You probably have to go into the RAID card's setup utility and set up a RAID from there.

Which do I use though, there is alot of different options on how to raid a setup.

I would suggest you read up on the various RAID arrays and then decide. If you are wanting to know just the stripe size then smaller gives better performance but larger is better with Massive size files
