Noob question

I just got a new eVGA 7800GT. Am i supposed to peel off the plastic covering on top?

I know its a noob question 😛

Plastic covering? Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about. If you mean the sticker, I think it voids your warranty. The heatsink/fan? NO, lol.

It is just a little clear plastic covering on the heatsink/fan. It doesn't seem to be important. Maybe just something to keep the design underneath safe. It seems like im supposed to take it off.

Are you sure? It is kinda covering the fan a little, so it seems like it doesn't belong. It is just a clear plastic covering.

I have the same card, leave the black plastic cover on. If its just some thin plastic flim thing on the black one you can peel that off, mine had one.

Yeah it is just that. So i guess, off it goes!

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. My cards had it too; it's just packaging material put on so that the picture on the heatsink doesn't get scratched. Take it off.
