noob question: can someone list current intel chips from fastest to slowest for me, please?

I haven't been keeping up on this stuff lately. Is a Pentium D or a Pentium 4 faster? I have no idea. Obviously, if two chips are the same except one has a higher mhz rating, then that one will be faster, but what about the different families of chips that are out right now?

Just go by price and common sense. With the pentium Ds you can compage the ghz. Obviously they charge more for fast chips. So, go by price. This might help.

I would think after 37000+ posts you would know this and not ask others about something that is so easy to find.

Tom's hardware has a good guide for processor comparison. Why don't you look there instead of ordering "just do it" to the other forumites.
