Noob Overclocking amd question.

Asus M3A78-T with bios 1601

I used a thread at overclockers to help with overclocking this nice CPU. I was able to unlock the other 2 cores and did lots of testing last night. What has me baffled is the HT Link speed. With stock settings is registered on CPU-Z as 1600. The guide I went by said that this should not exceed 1100 and the goal to be around 1000. I looked through another thread on overclockers where people were uploading screen captures of CPU-Z and many of them were quite higher than 1100. So what is the scoop on this setting? Can someone offer me some advice on this? TIA.
