Hello,
i haven't really been following the hardware trends in the last years and months, so I am pretty clueless as to what's currently a good combination of PC parts. I live in Switzerland and will be buying the parts from here as well, if that makes a big difference in price (usually electronics are pretty cheap here i think). I want to build a high-end gaming pc, with a budget of around 2500-3000 $ or CHF.
This is the shop which i'd probably get most (if not all) of the parts from: https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/tag/pc-components-76
I do NOT have a brand preference and the only part i currently have is a monitor, that i'm using on my laptop right now.
Not sure if i plan on overclocking the PC, but i wouldn't be declined to do so in the future, if that means i can squeeze out enough performance for some more games that will come out.
The resolution i will most likely want to play my games on will be 2560x1440, as i already have a 27" screen like this, and i'm planning to maybe buy another one (with 144hz), but not sure about that yet. Would not be absolutely terrible to set the resolution to 1080p in future titles though.
I'm planning on buying it as soon as possible, but i'm not sure if it's a good idea, since i've heard about the new generation of nvidia gpus coming out very soon (gtx 990 i think?). i was actually thinking about getting a 780 ti as a gpu, but not sure now - same goes for cpus, where i'm pretty clueless as well. I don't want to go below 780 TI performance-wise on GPU and not below 16 GB of RAM.
I don't think i need to buy Windows 8, as I already have it for my laptop (pretty sure i can also use it on the other PC, or not?)
Help would be very much appreciated!
