Noob cell question

Good morning all, I'm not much of a cell user, just a T-mobile prepay account. My question is : my old Nokia 6010 developed keypad issues so I got a used one in perfect shape on Ebay for $10. I charge it's battery and insert my sim card from old phone and it calls fine but none of my phone #'s got transferred. I can put the sim in old phone and manually copy them but I always thought all of of your personal info got stored on the sim as well, what's going on here?. Thanks in advance for any answers, I just never got that much into cell tech or how it works..

The default for that phone is to save in both Phone and SIM but you may have changed it inadvertently. You can check it at Contacts > Settings > Memory in Use.

Also, do your contacts have e-mail addresses or more than one phone number? If so, they will only be saved in the phone's memory. If those limitations don't apply, try changing it to SIM on the old phone then editing each number to save it to the SIM.

Note: The cheapest way to replace a T-Mobile prepaid phone is to wait for their monthly promotion that includes a $25 refill then buy the phone using Cashback (currently 35%).

Thanks, I saw that promo last month but it's gone now. Although the Nokia 6010 is a dinosaur by today's standards I like it for it's signal strength and rugged design and I didn't want to learn a new phone menu all over again. I'll dig through this one and see if I changed any settings. Interestingly, the phone from ebay even though it's battery was completely dead still had the previous owners info on it including " rejection hotline" as a stored contact...LMAO!, I think a teen had it..

Tried, the "contact" key is broken so I can't get to settings, guess I'll just copy it over manually to the new phone..
