noob canon s400 question

When taking pictures in the auto mode, the slightest movement of the hands holding the camera cause the picture to blur, sometimes a little bit, sometimes a lot. How do I stop the blurring. Keep in mind the person using the camera (my father) can't be bothered to try manual settings... The simpler the solution the better. Thanks

using the "sports" setting helped for me on a Panasonic camera, maybe something similar on this one?

Are you using it in the daytime? If you are using it in dimly lit settings you will always get that.. canons are crap on low light situations.

No sports setting on the s400. Depending on what he's taking pictures of, you could:

use the flash
turn on more lights
don't zoom in

Really the best way would be to up the ISO. It's not that difficult to change.
