my p180 has an audio connector for the front of the case, the usual headset and microphone options.

however, my sound blaster audigy 2 zs does not have any set of pins that would fit the interface (off by one pin being closed where it shouldnt be)

so the p180 has all separate audio connector pieces in case of this, but i have no clue which goes where..

how can i find this out?

Check out this site to do what you want to do, although you will probably need to do a little modding to get it all working.

thanks, that does answer my question. now to decide if i want to do it or not.

im pretty pissed off that it doesnt work as-is. you figure the most popular sound card on the market would work but obviously they want you to buy the front panel instead. now i almost wish i didnt give creative my money for a damn zen vision m lol

Yeah, its too bad it can't just plug in and work, but I can't really fault creative for it. I think that little connector format for the platinum drive has been around from before "front panel" audio connectors starting being built into cases. At any rate, the mod seems to be just building a simple adapter so it shouldn't be too hard to build!

that's definently a problem. creative is really an ass for doing this. i have front audio ports on Centurion 5 and if i buy a soundcard, i won't be able to connect them without modding? WTF?
