Be kind: I have not posted to this forum before. Mostly have traded in the FS/FT forum

I got this CPU in a trade; markings are below:

AXDA2800KV4D

41F6196270132

AQZFA0344PM

Can this be overclocked successfully?

Will have to get a mobo to make a home for it, so any mobo, etc. suggestions would also be welcome

I'm sorry i can be of no help to whether your CPU is locked or unlocked. All new Bartons have a locked multiplyer so it is difficult to overclock without a hardmod. Another big factor in overclocking is what motherboard you're running that on.

I myself have a Barton 2800+ on an Asus A7N8X Deluxe overclocked pretty well at 11x210 with a 1.675 vcore. I'd say go with an nForce 2 motherboard. I've had good experiences with my A7N8X.

Also if you plan on overclocking much you cant have the stock heatsink, you'll need more.

I hope that helped some.

just depends on what u consider 'successful'... with an ok mobo; ok memory; ok cooling; you will probably get at least 10% or so... maybe a bunch more if u r lucky... have a look at the anands oc system guides... may have to go to the older one for a xp...

my 2500+ is running rock stable at 2.2, hasn't crashed since i overclocked(6 weeks ago)
that 2800+ should be running on a 166fsb, which you should be able to bump to 200, in steady increments, as usual 😉
as for a mobo, my abit nf7-s has pretty much all the necessary controls and options
good luck!

it should have absolutely no problem making 2.2. I wouldn't be surprised if it could approach 2.4 or more.
