non-UMA video memory??

What does it mean when Microsoft recommends 64MB of non-UMA video memory?

Non-integrated? GeForce 6200 "Turbocache" is out?

Guess that means cards like 6200 TurboCache and ATI HyperMemory are not good choices for apps like Microsoft Movie Maker which specifically reccommends non-UMA.

And you're right - I did a little more searching after I posted.... never got a DEFINATE answer, but I did come to the same conclusion. 😉

Turbocache might be ok as PCI-E is somewhat better than the AGP bus was for system memory access. Integrated video that uses system RAM over an AGP or regular PCI bus is probably out though.

The turbo cache and hyper memory parts should be fine, just don't use intergrated graphics unless its pretty high end (eg ATI's new stuff or intel/nvidias latest IGPs might be ok) and you should be fine.
