zipzoomfly still has them. I got mine from NewEgg on Thurs. I believe that zipzoomfly also has a non-sli VIA based PCI-Express board by Asus in stock.

Good luck with ZZF, I ordered the VNF4 from them on Monday. Needless to say, I cancelled the order and went with newegg.com when it turned out that they sold out. They apparently don't do realtime stock updates on their website. So, in all likelihood they're already sold out but at least they'll email you if they are. So you can order it and it'll process your order until Monday when the people come in and realize that too many orders were placed for the limited quantity that they have.

Newegg kept them about all day yesterday. I am betting maybe one more stock will go fairly quick but after than it will settle down some. The price also went up $5 on it yesterday which is lame.

just wondering...

any reason nobody seems to be going for the Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 instead? It's $14 more, but still, it's an in-stock s939 NF4 PCI-E mobo, and from newegg! is the Chaintech so much better (how?)

The GA-K8NF-9 is the nForce4 4X (non-Ultra/SLI) while the Chaintech VNF4 is the nForce4 Ultra. The Ultra is supposed to be for enthusiasts (ie. overclockers).

thx didn't think how the non-ultra might affect overclocking.

thought maybe the gigabyte might be good for a stock rig, or maybe waiting for the DFI (whenever it comes out) since those boards are supposed to be easy to work with and maybe a good one to learn on.

any suggestions on components etc.?

Ya, when they first came out 2-3 weeks ago on Newegg, they were only $119. They were gone QUICK.
