Non-gaming video card recommendations

I need some help picking a video card for a non-gaming setup. Main purpose: office. Budget says max $50. My only requirement is it has to feature a DVI port.

In general, people tend to say, "whatever fits your budget will do just fine". That's probably true. I'm though a bit picky concerning heat and noise. So it has to stay relative cool (40-50 celcius) out of the box. Also a relative quiet onboard fansink is preferred over a small heatsink.

For no reasons why, I'd prefer the GeForce series. 8400GS seems to fit my budget and needs, but I guess any other will do so too.

My current pick is MSI NX8400GS-TD256E (some places it figures as N8400GS), but any recommendations or input is most welcome.

For an office machine with no 3D needs whatsoever, you can also find older generation cards at some stores as low as $30. Some of these won't even have a fan, just a big heatsink, so there will be zero noise. If this system might ever run Windows Vista, and therefore its new 3D interface, then staying a bit more recent with the 8400 may be wiser in the long run.

Thanks for the answers.

I don't know if it has anything to say, but I use Ubuntu and the desktop effects a lot.
