The "garotas" are . . . wow!


in Porto Alegre . . . for 3 months [with NO other English speaker] . . . Someday i'd like to retire in S. Brasil [but it's probably a dream] . . i also traveled and surfed my way up to Rio [from Santa Catarina to Rio, it's AWEsome!. . . surf AND girls . . . RGdS only has Torres beach as a "real" surf break.

My Portuguese is pretty rusty but improves immediately whenever i meet a nice girl from Brasil.

The ugly girls tend to "hide" . . . howver, even those without pretty faces tend to really work their bodies to their genetic potential [unlike lazy American women].

And it's ABSOLUTELY TRUE the Brazilian girls like N Americans . . . i almost got married to a Brazillian woman. :p

We met a pair of Brazilian chicks down in Florida a few months ago and jesus they were hot. Too bad they were like ten years older than me though (I'm 15)

ANyway, the Brazilian women are quite often beautiful AND "unspoiled" compared to women in the USA . . . . plus they are VERY friendly [and tend to be UNinhibited about sex]

i WON'T say "why buy the cow when you get free milk?" . . . but i have heard it a lot ;)

ALSO, there are those women who will marry just to get permanent legal status here . . .

Yeah man i'm going to the carribean next month and i'm hoping to find some brazilians there to blow away with my portuguese. It's really rare finding an american who speaks portuguese.

what surprised the hell out of me . . . when i came back here and was escorting a [non English-speaking] Garota around the San Diego tourist sites, i had the option to play the Spanish version of the "speaking guide book" for her . . . surprisingly, i was able to understand it even though before i went to Brasil i didn't speak it.

kind of like getting 2 languages for the price of one

and Spanish is quite useful in SoCal ;)

in Rio or Sao Paulo you will have no trouble finding English speaking people . . . in the South (which is VERY different from the rest of Brasil - more like Europe, really; the girls are often blonde and blue-eye) it is harder to get by.

i did it but the first few days were difficult. i just brought my english-portuguese dictionary and found the prople were generally helpful. Within a week, i had the "basics" down and in a month was speaking broken Portuguese. By the end of 3 months, people were asking me WHERE i was from (Argentina? Uruguay . . . i even had the S Brasil 'accent')

"total immersion" - although painful at first - is a GREAT way to learn another language
(i woundn't try it on a 2 week vacation . . . do the "tourist stuff" then)

There's a growing Brazilian community in my neighborhood,there are a couple of awesome Brazilian bakeries that I walk by o my way to work and there are frequently some really awesome looking people hanging out there both male and female.

Aside from exotic coloring/body types one thing I've noticed is the good grooming on most of the folks going in there,even for sunday brunch the jerans are pressed, hair done, feet are well groomed, they have somer style,unlike a lot of American women who will trot about town wearing any old thing and who will put their unkempt feet in open toed shoes/sandals.

Lol oh and I think Brazilian men like blonde women for some odd reason :)

you are right but it isn't an "odd reason" . . . 'opposites attract'

In the South of Brasil, a very high percentage of the people are descended from Europeans . . . so there are LOTS of blondes there [and less of a "premium"].

My favourites are the dark[er] Brazillian women of mixed/African descent.

Oh man, you guys are busting my balls!!! I've really been missing out. I came here to the US when I was about young, left back to brasil at 3 then came back again when I was six and have been here every since. It's wierd, growing up I was actually ashamed of my brasilian heritage, but thanks to my uncle I've found new insight into my dual nationality. Thankfully my parents maintained a portuguese only policy inside the house so I still maintain my language. O poco que eu falo e suficiente para qual que coisa que eu quero. Moving down to florida this summer will give me a small taste of what brasil is. But man on man do I long to go back. If the chicks go all over you English speaking grengos immagine what they'll do to my portuguese/american/german/white bunda!!! Damnit you guys, NOSTALGIA
