I remember back in my undergrad days at Maryland. I was just sitting around and I heard this girl speaking perfect Chinese. When I turned around, I was shocked to see that she was a pretty blonde girl. It was weird seeing her speak perfect Chinese. It made her more attractive to me.

In the future we will see more of them!

chinese will certainly replace japanese as the number 2 language in international commerce. but english has taken such a strangle hold as the international language i find it hard to believe that it will ever be replaced. i recently went to china every thing that is in chinese is also in english. the people in the air port at japan speak japanese and english. at a chinese airport its chinese and english.

I would wager English will always be the most dominate language for international communication because it is more precise. So many Asian languages require words to be taken in context or else they can mean a whole slew of different things. That is one reason why English is the "official" language of international aviation; verbal precision.
