Dear Harry,
I would like to nominate Senator Tom A. Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) for Federal Employee Of The Year.
Now, I know you and Tom don't quite see eye to eye. (Coburn Omnibus planned for July) But, damn it, Senator Tom has done more to save this country some money than almost all the other sitting Senators combined. And that should count for something.
I know, I know, the government has to spend money like there is no tomorrow so that we can hold off on a national bankruptcy. But, Harry, I am worried that we are spending a wheelbarrow of money on things that don't get us any JOBS!
While we all know there is a need for a more educated legislative branch, isn't it a bit of a stretch to have the National Institutes of Health conduct political science research? (Coburn offers a civics lesson) I know a guy by the name of eskispy and he already claims to know everything there is to know about political science, why don't you just ask him when you have a question?
I've been hearing about all of these "czars" that President Obama (May Allah Be Pleased With Him!) has appointed, and I want Him to get all of the help He can get cause I really think He needs it, but why in tarnation do we need Rooshans on the government payroll? (Russ Feingold: Czars have too much power) There is a poster by the name of mikedaidiot that posts on this Forum I got to for yucks that is highly qualified at being underemployed and I would be glad to send you a recommendation that you can pass on to Himself. I bet mikedaidiot can take on four or five of these Rooshan jobs and save the world almost all by himself, he is that self-educated! And if he can't do the job, just fire his ass (don't worry about it, he's used to it!) and use LemonyLaw instead. (I don't know what he does, but he is awful sure he is always right, too. His bud, Crag123, has my back on this from here to Sunday!)
Now, Tom Coburn is a good man. He is a doctor and despite all of the good he has done in the Senate, he is still seeing patients. I did write a note to another friend of mine by the name of Moonglow who has been strung out in heaven's high, hitting an all-time low, to drop by and see Dr. Tom, but I think he got a bit mixed up and went to see Major Tom instead.
I just know you have been hankering to follow in Tom Delay's footsteps on "Dancing With The Stars," especially once you saw the hottie good ol' Tom was dancing with. And I, for one, would like to give you that chance straight way if you would resign, for the good of the Country and all.
But before you do, PLEASE let bygones be bygones (you will have a great shot at doing something awesome once you get back to doing the two step back in Vegas!) and give Senator Tom your full backing for Federal Employee Of The Year!
And when you talk to Senator Tom, could you say 'Senator' instead of 'Doctor?' It's just a thing. He worked so hard to get that title. I'd appreciate it.

Dr. Coburn retired from Congress in 2001, fulfilling his pledge to serve no more than three terms in the House.
In 1970, Dr. Coburn graduated with an accounting degree from Oklahoma State University. One of the Top Ten seniors in the School of Business, Dr. Coburn served as president of the College of Business Student Council.
From 1970 to 1978, Dr. Coburn served as manufacturing manager at the Ophthalmic Division of Coburn Optical Industries in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Under his leadership, the Virginia division of Coburn Optical grew from 13 employees to more than 350 and captured 35 percent of the U.S. market.
After the family business was sold, Dr. Coburn changed the course of his life by returning to school to become a physician. Again he emerged as a leader, becoming president of his class at the University of Oklahoma Medical School where he graduated in 1983. He then did his internship in general surgery at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City and family practice residency at the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith.
Dr. Coburn returned to Muskogee where he specializes in family medicine, obstetrics and the treatment of allergies. Dr. Coburn has personally delivered more than 4,000 babies.
Dr. Coburn also is a two-time cancer survivor.
