NOLF- very odd problem, please help

I've had this game sitting around for a while but never got a chance to install it...today I decided to give it a whirl, so I install the game without a problem...run it, everything's going ok...but then as the first stage starts loading, the thing just loads forever! It just keeps loading the freakin level but nothing ever loads!! It doesn't crash, it just keeps loading the level indefinately and the board never starts...anyone experience anything like this or can offer any advice???

i'm rollin w. a amd athlon 1.2ghz, 256mb ram, 128mb ati radeon....
 
Click the icon to bring up the menu that you get before you start the game - Click on the Options button and disable the logos...
 
disable the logos? there's no such option that i can see...the only thing you can do (when you click advanced) is
disable sound, music, movies, fog, joysticks, triple buffering, hardware cursor, and the animated load screen...i can't see anything about logos...what do you mean?
