Nokia's first WP7 device "leaked" EDIT: close-up video

Anyone else notice the lack of the required Windows Phone buttons? Granted they didn't show the bottom of the phone while it was on, they could be the new "soft button" style.

I hope they put a better soc on the phone.
Not that WP7 needs it but for the games.

It's up to the SOC vendor, Qualcomm, to make WP7 work with a new chip. With WP7 volumes being as low as they are, it's going to play second fiddle to Android when it comes to getting engineers to support it. Since MS specifies a Qualcomm Snapdraggon chip, the lack of competition from other chip vendors also means there is no rush.

The latest dual-core Snapdragon is already compatible with WP7 according to Qualcomm's website. And supposedly Nokia will be using ST-Ericsson's dual-core A9-based soc's in some of their WP7 devices.

Compatible just means it can be made to work. There is still the actual work to tune and tweak the platform on a specific SOC and device, get it carrier certified, etc. This requires certain nontrivial amount of engineering resources from the SOC vendor.

probably no snow balls hell in chance we see a CDMA version of this. But, if I'm wrong I'll almost definitely get one.
