That was kinda my point, they used to be innovators and leaders. Now they just play catch up.

I want more apps, better battery life, a smoother interface, a better software keyboard, a thinner phone, more docking options, etc. I want evolution, not revolution.

Agree, they got too settled being first in the world that they forgot to innovate based on the changing market. Consumers are winning with companies like BlackBerry and Nokia suffering right now.
