Noisy Motherboard Fan

i recently switched case fans and my hsf, and am using all 80 mm panalfow L1A's. however, i noticed that there wasn't that much noise reduction when i finally got my svc gc68 to replace the tt volcano 5.

as the panaflows are nice and quiet, i managed to narrow the noise down to my two ibm hard drives and the motherboard fan. i believe the majority of the noise is from the little mb fan, as stopping it actually reduces the noise considerably. any suggestions to reduce the noise? i'd take it off, but i don't think it'd be that good an idea, as the chip it's mounted to seems to get pretty warm.

I'd second that one if it's warm like you say.. but it seems like it might be a little overkill for a motherboard chip..
Maybe this one would do better for cheap though since most motherboard chipsets don't need fans..

Doesn't that cheaper one you linked to include a fan on it? The heatsink in the box looks like a normal northbridge heatsink/fan combo...
