I have a major noise issue with my case. I dont know if its the position of it or anything else, but here's my specs: 3200+ s939 Whinchester at stock, 3D1 at 551/1.22, Seagate Barracuda 160 gigabyte drive, Hyper 48 with a Zalman fan, a Tri-Cool 120mm fan from ANTEC, a CoolerMaster 92mm fan in the "lower bay"(ull see when i get :camera: ), and a Vantec cooling off the Northbridge. Use a Sunbeam Rheobus along with quality ball beaing fans. sidewindercomputers.com has
a Sanyo Denki 92x32 @ $5.95(iirc). It is not audable at 12" in open air when run at 8V. It will start/run at 4V.

See ,Im a poor 13 year old and cant order off the internet. My parents think that teyre credit cards will be stolen. The pics will be on in a minute, so u can see the setup of the pc. That might be the main reason behind this...
 
Go to silentpcreview.com and do some homework 😀

1. Identify the noisiest components. Removing the side cover while the computer is on. Stop each fan one by one. Listening carefully. This will tell you which fans are the noisiest.
2. Undervolt (also called 7 Volt or 5 Volt) the noisiest fans. This is cheap, and you do not need to buy anything over the Internet. Your local Radio Shack store will have what you need, cheap.
3. You can also sometimes use software to slow down your fans.
 
Hmmmm, I think its the GPU fans, 60mm fans that have over 1000 hrs of use. Ill just buy sum vf700 AICU's, cheap enough for me...
 
If you don't mind me shooting from the hip, I'll post a few thoughts.

To find the noise, stop your fans one at a time by pressing on the hub.
If it is the graphics card fan a larger slim one can be silicone bonded to the plate after the offeding fan is removed. One thin 60 to 70mm fan is cheap. A fan from a retail HSF for a AMD 754 CPU is a good choice if you have one, as it does have a tach wire. Just mount it with four dots of silicone.

If you have a fan that is vibrating we can cover that later.

I looked at several reviews of this case. It only has one intake fan. Unlike the Wave Master it is fitted against the front inner panel. The Wave Master's is not. That's why i needed to see good pics.
Your intake sucks from the bottom of the door. I'm glad you don't have the rig on the floor to be a dust buster 😀

Where are the other intake fans? I do not think you need active cooling on the NB and the lower rear fan, is that an exhaust? Your air flow should be close to balanced, maybe a touch positive case pressure.

I would consider mounting the fan that's at the NB and the lower rear fan as intakes on the side cover. Why? Because you have the PSU and the 120 fan all ready exhausting air.

The bottum fan is a exhaust, but for good reason. Without it, my cores get up to 60C on idle. I just found out where the noise is at: its my 3D1 cooler. Also i need to buy sum 5v regulators for the 80mm fan, and the CPU fan. Plus that Antec tri-cool suks in terms of noise. Ill dump that ASAP. The 120mm fan is a low RPM fan, so it doesnt blow much air at all. Im also buying a 120mm CoolerMaster for the second intake because my parents wont let me cut up my new case just yet.
 
Works like a champ Avoid the 7V trick it's not the best for the PSU. If this looks like a winner, don't buy a DPDT switch from Radio Shack for $5 because they can be had for <$1.50 if you look. allelectronics.com has lots of good, cheap goodies. They will ship light packages USPS uninsured, if asked. Their basic shipping is $6. I just ordered 4 fans, soldering flux and some switches. Shipping was $6.

Ill just buy a fan controller, after Janurary most likly. I made the fans a bit silent, but they still need more. Im still thinking that 2 vf700's for Christmas will do the the trick, along with the X-FI Im getting. But still the HS is really good, i can get 570/1.8 on it with stacked fans blowing on it with a ambient of 12C. O well, I can live with the sound now, better than before. Needs improvement, but better...
 
Isn't the 3d1 the card with 2 GPU's? I honestly don't think you're going to be able to fit 2 VF700's on there, at least without hacking up the fins. Also the PCB probably doesn't have the correct mounting holes for them.

Look around the web to see if anyone's done some sort aftermarket cooling solution, but since that's a fairly rare card I doubt it. You could probably mod your own heatsink from an old stock AMD/P4 heatsink, just hack it to two of the correct size then ziptie them onto the board.

Some things you can do with your existing heatsink...

- Blow the dust out of it.
- Re-seat the heatsink with AS5 or Ceramique.

Zagod, Ive done these steps. This is the only thing left to do, but before I waste my money and be really pissed, Im gonna measure the room for them. ITS NEAR SILENT!!! If I turn down the Tri-Cool its almost silent, but its very quiet right now. Its just that Im getting a X-FI and if I get it, I cant use a 80mm fan to blow the hot air out of the case. Ill post when Im done my measurements, I first hafta find a ruler...
