Noise of V5 fans?

I'm just toying with the idea of a Voodoo5 if I ever find someone desperate to *cough* UPgrade. But with twin fans on it, how loud is it? I want a QUIET PC! :Q
Retail or OEM. I won't overclock it or stick on any aftermarket megafans. :p

I'll have to remember that... maybe I can find someone willing to trade a bunch of music stuff for one. :p

I thought this thread was about all the avid V5 fans making noise about how great their cards are.:p

I don't notice the noise of my V5's fans, but then again, I also have about 10 other fans total running in there, so it's already pretty noisy.

I do not hear mine as well, even with open case. And I do not have 10 other fans. This is no problem at all.

Fortunately I'm not stupid. I know perfectly well how hot those things get. My TNT1, on the other hand, I might be able to remove than the fan and replace it with a good heatsink.

Blue, Nah, don't remove the fan from a TNT. I know you're just joking, but my experience with a CL TNT left me scrathcing my head and wondering why CL didn't put a fan on that locking sucker.

Take off the fans, u don't need them unless you want to overclock

LOL!

Nah, V5 fans are much quieter than Nvidia fans.

Quieter than the fans I don't have?

when i had a v5, you could hear the fans if you listened, but my PC is pretty quiet. They'd make this sorta ball bearings hitting each other type sound. Personally i've got a fanless radeon OEM 32mb ddr. obviously quieter.

Does this mean you're selling your 4500? :) Whoa... just checked my email. someone offered me one locally for $65US ($100 Canadian...) Not bad at all. A 4500 might be nice, although I'd prefer the 5500 if I could get a deal on one.

Sorry to hear about that. Poor guy... stuck with an MX. :p
He'll defend it to his death though. ;)

If anyone's interested... I took the noisy fan off my TNT card... working fine and much quieter with just a simple heatsink. :)

I must admit... one of those Radeon LE's @ $85US is tempting, tempting.... I was hoping to play with Glide/good FSAA, but that price is hard to ignore, eh? No fan either. :)

You would if you had a loud, buzzing desktop computer in front of you. :p
The fewer fans, the better. (Unless those fans are SILENT!)
