Noise coming out of speakers

Try turning off the line-in in your sound settings. When mine is on, my mouse causes my speakers to emit a weird noise.

as mentioned above, if you're not using them, mute your "cd audio", "line-in", and "auxiliary" sources in your sound control panel. noticeably cuts down on the hiss for me.

yeah, the biggest drop in hiss seems to come from muting the "cd audio" source. but i also noticed a slight difference when muting the other two as well. ymmv.

Well, mine does it, too, and at first I thought it was annoying, now I got used to it b/c it's barely audible. I thought it was b/c of a cheap motherboard (ECS) my POS has, prolly they screwed up the onboard sound card. Who cares, anyway. But it's surprising to see others have it, too.

Yep, and I also hear some hiss when moving the mouse and volume set at high. Sigh.

i used to hear the radio from my cambridge soundworks pc works speaker.

could never figure out why. in the begininning it would freak me out to hear voices from those speakers when the computer was off.

My computer speakers make a funny noise once in a while. It sounds like "bee bee bee beeee bee", almost like an alien lifeform is trying to communicate to me in morse code. I have no idea why it does that. Labtec speakers, 2 satellites, 1 subwoofer, I've had them for 5 years.
