Noctua U12P or TRUE Exteme?

Try the newer version of the TRUE, the Venemous X. Otherwise the Megashadow is one of the best air coolers on the market. Or the Noctua NH-D14, but it's pretty big and might block off RAM slots.

on average the NH-D14 seems to take the lead more often. one site may have the prolimatech win, another will have titan fenrir, some have a zalman. the D14 will frequently take #2 on those sites and #1 on others.

the weight of the noctua is an issue though.

Megashadow was the best before, but the Thermalright Venemous X is the newer TRUE...It's got some really good temps too...

i'm kind of favoring the Noctua, It comes with a good fan, and is a good bit cheaper than the Venom-X + 1 x 120mm fan

any other solution for ~$50?

this will be for a AMD x4 620 in a P180 mini

I'm not sure why you would want the BEST aircooler. Honestly you should just shell out more for a watercooling setup if you want world records. Otherwise the Scythe Mugen 2 is a crazy good heatsink for its price, and it handles temps as well as most heatsinks.

If you want a quiet fan with good static pressure, Scythe GT's are the way to go. Hands down.

Nobody said anything about breaking records. If I wanted to wc I wouldve asked about it... I'm asking for a good air cooler for $50 to fit in my p180 mini

Oh no, I just meant if you wanted a high overclock, top of the line aircoolers wouldn't much be worth what you're gonna pay. I was just suggesting that the Mugen 2 is a great heatsink for what you pay, and it should be enough to cool for your needs.
