Hi everyone.
I think I have to replace my stock HSF (Deepcool Gammaxx 400) fan due to its LED light seems to annoy my housemate. I come across Noctua Redux and CM Silencio because both are within my budget (< 15 USD). So, which one is better doing their job? Or maybe if you have other cheaper pwm fan suggestion, I also would like to hear that.

Thanks in advance.

The Noctua has better the upside as the CM fan tops out at 44 CFM, which is not a lot. But if your not pushing your CPU that much, it should be fine as well. I personally like the performance/quiet/quality of Noctua fans, but that's a personal preference.

Two other fans worth looking at for decent static pressure with low noise in that price range are Rosewill Hyperborea (model ROCF-11004 - $14.99, free shipping) and Arctic F12 ($7.59, free shipping).

Now you mention that, the needle is moving towards the Redux. But, I'll wait for others' word before pulling the trigger.

Unfortunately, I can't find them in this part of the world and I believe newegg won't cover the shipping cost from US to Indonesia.

Ah, you should have mentioned you are in Indonesia. :) I shouldn't have assumed you are in the U.S., though.

You really can't go wrong with Noctua, they are probably the safest option in terms of reliability even if you have a wider selection. O!Technology (I watch his English videos) on Youtube did a good review of the Redux recently as well as a 120mm roundup a few weeks ago. Good amount of testing especially since written reviews don't often properly convey how a particular fan actually sounds.

Nvm, I'm the one who should apologise because I forget to mention about that.

Thanks, I'll watch that. Noise is my less concern because, tbh, my gpu fan sounds louder than my current cpu fan. As long it's cheap, reliable, powerful enough, and have no light on it, I'm good.

try to find this fan.. Cougar Vortex
https://www.amazon.com/Cougar-Vorte...TF8&qid=1517116407&sr=1-62&keywords=120mm+fan

It would be like my third pick from top performance fans..

1. Nidac Gentle Typhoon. -> probably too expensive
https://www.amazon.com/Nidec-Servo-...qid=1517116715&sr=1-2&keywords=gentle+typhoon

2. Noctua Industrial 3000RPM -> again too expensive
https://www.amazon.com/Focused-NF-F...keywords=noctua+nf-f12+industrialppc-3000+pwm

3. Cougar Vortex

The fan curve looks very good on it...

Gah, no luck with Cougar and Nidac. And Noctua Industrial costs me twice the Redux.

I guess I'll pull the trigger with the Redux. Even though its static pressure a bit lower than Silencio (1.31 vs 1.69 mmH2O) but it has superior airflow (74.7 vs 100.6 m3/h).

Thanks for the inputs, everyone. Really appreciate it. I'll post the pic once I receive the fan.

Hi guys! The redux has been delivered earlier this morning and had time to load-test it with BOINC-based project this afternoon (ambient temp. 28°C).
Here's the result:
Idle condition:
Inside the case:

Stock fan speed (~840 rpm)

Redux fan speed (~400 rpm)

Full load condition:
Stock fan speed (~1064 rpm)
fan_speed_full_load.png

Redux fan speed (~874 rpm)
fan_speed_full_load_redux.png

Stock fan temp (41°C)

Redux fan temp (43°C)

Quite amazed by how slow it runs compared to the stock fan even that means a bit hotter. But still, now I can run my computer however long it is without any complaints from my housemate. Thanks guys!
