I tried looking on Noctua's site for memory compatibility but it seems to link to motherboard listings instead.

I am wondering, do the G.SKill Sniper series memory sets fit under the NH-D14 heatsink and fan?

It's between these and the Corsair Vengeance low profile memory I think (unless someone has a different suggestion). Looked for the Samsung 8GB kit (2x4GB) but out of stock everywhere.

Mine would fit memory with a heatspreader no more than about .5" tall off the top of the ram modual. I use the standard corsair XMS ram without the huge ass heatspreaders.

Didn't see that in the specs. Thanks...Samsung single sticks might be am option now too. Didn't think of that. Anyone think it would be better to get a set of gskill over buying two Samsung sticks individually?

Here are photos of both in my build (albiet with a 212+)

The angle isn't the best, but the Sniper is right up against the base of the fan, and if I were to populate the #4 RAM slot, I would have had to slide the intake fan up about 1/4" or so... no big deal, but not what I wanted to do.

The Samsung cards are lower than the locking tabs... :D

The poor souls that can barely fit the 160mm tower into their case would find that additional 1/4" an issue. Luckily, there are no such people in this thread?

Not me...the cooler master haf 932 is plenty large enough. Ordered two of the Samsung as single sticks before those sell out too.

Much of it depends on the mobo you have... the CPU/cooler/RAM slot relationship. As I say, in my case, if I'm not using the #4 RAM slot, I could put some of those silly SuperGnarlyExtremeUltra finned RAM in there... I'm sure it's better than what I have... ;)

Good deal! I think you'll like it!

Thanks for all the help guys. Gone are the days where every memory is the same height and it all fits. Now you have some really crazy designs on the heat spreaders which are just unnecessary.

This and crazy-big coolers like the NH-D14 Noctua. :)

You can also just slide the fan up a bit to clear most any ram you buy.

I have the NH-D14 heatsink (which says it has 44mm of clearance) with an ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Pro Gen3 motherboard and using 4 sticks of the Mushkin Redline 4GB 2133Mhz RAM (model 996997 that has the "ridgeback heatsink at 42mm high).
As you can see from the 1st pic, it comes very close to the bottom of the heatsink, but does not touch. The 2nd pic is with the 120mm fan, but I did move the fan up a little just to give it some extra room between the heatsink on top of the RAM.
