Now, many years ago, an occasional PC gamer I worked with said he thinks it's pronounced "Thermal tock ee." Had me thinking about it ever since...
It's pronounced Thermal Take. Common US English for both words. You can tell him differently, though, just to make him look stupid.
I had a tech at a PC store pronouncing ASUS as Aye Sue E Us for years until he clued on.
