Since you are an American, living on 'Merican Soil, Breathin in all that Conservative 'Merican air -
Who told you how Europe thinks and acts ? What 'Facts' - your's or something that sombody
else that dosen't live there wrote that you read ?
Or did you obtain that perspective by eating those 'Freedom Fries' that our stupid reactionary
Congress decided to call them to discredit the French in honor of Bush II ?
I've been all over the world. I've probably spent at least a year of my life in a third world country if I tally up all the time I've visited there over my life. I've stopped in Europe a few times for a short while, but never lived there. My stay there resulted in me researching these topics. That usually happens when you're treated like a sub-human.
Facts are facts. 95% of Slovenia voted against restoring basic human rights to a group of minorities. That's a fact. The most popular political party in Switzerland has slogans such as "The Swiss are becoming negroes." That's a fact. Nazi parties have just been elected in some German states. That's a fact. The list goes on and on. You don't need to live in France to realize that nearly 20% of the population voted for a hardcore ultra-right racist. It's in the facts.
How long have you lived in Slovenia or Switzerland ? Or have youe ever even had your
feet on the ground in a foriegn country - or is anyplace outside the state border of
where you live considered to be 'Foriegn ?
You don't have to live in Slovenia to know that 95% of the population voted against restoring basic human rights to a group of minorities. Do you have to live in Iraq to know that American troops are in Iraq? Do you need to go to Harvard to know that it's one of the top schools in the country? According to you, you cannot be critical of anything in existence unless you're personally observing it in your day to day life.
I'm interested in what your belief in history is. It's not like you've personally experienced most of history. So do you not make assertions and bring up historical facts? I really want to know.
You're following the same basic tactic that most use. But then you ignore what you're trying to press upon me. You don't need to have lived in apartheid to have been able to criticize apartheid. You're following the same tactic that pro-Apartheid people did to deflect criticism of apartheid.
Racists ? good Lord boy, the Congress of the US is filled with racists - passing themselves
off as Southern Republican Conservatives - doing all that they can to stiffle minorities.
Trent Lott, Tom DeLay, Bob Barr, Newt Gingritch - slimeballs like that.
Good LAWD boy! There are slimeballs everywhere. That doesn't mean you cannot criticize another slimeball just because there are some that exist elsewhere. Are you a minority? I hope you are because according to your beliefs, you can't say what you just said if you aren't one.
