no xp theme music

bought a new computer w/ xp home sp2
and when it boots up and shows the blue windows welcome screen i dont hear the XP music chime??
other than that sound is fine doing evertthing else. music, movies, IM, games?
What's up w/ that. I know its not important but a little disturbing
 
most likely system sounds are disabled, go into control panel>sounds & audio devices
and check the scheme under the sounds tab.
