No xp cd

I recently purchased a new dell and with it I recieved for free no os cd. it comes with xp and system restore installed but no cd. anyway to make one?
p.s. I did send them an email and request one but have no response as of yet.

Read this thread...I've just been experimenting with this, it's called "Slipstreaming", and it is possible.

You should be able to purchase the media from Dell for $25.

If you've got an i386 directory somewhere on your hard drive, you *might* be able to make a bootable CD with nLite.

If you know anyone else with a dell computer and XP who has one. They could probobly make you a copy with no problems. I think it would still be legal???(probobly not) as long as you have the OEM product key that came with your PC.

I recently ran into the tha same problem, and went thru Dell's documentation and found that its possible to create a restore CD using a program under Dell Acessories (one time only) see http://support.dell.com/support/topics/...upport/kb/en/document?dn=1091713#step1


Note you must have a CDRW drive in the PC.
