A friends HP xt963 computer turns on (fans spin), but the monitor doesn't get a signal. The monitor works. I tested it. I put in a old but working pci video card and the monitor still doesn't get a signal. I don't see a jumper to clear the cmos anywhere, so I have took the battery out and plan to leave it out for 24hours to clear the cmos. My guess is either the cpu or MB died. Probly the MB since I don't think cpu's die that often. I cannot test the MB or cpu since I don't have anything that will run a celeron 1.2ghz or a cpu to put in the 810e MB. Is there anything else I should try?

God, this happened to me. What did I do? RMA everything including the mobo. Got a new mobo/RAM/Video Card from RMA< still didn't work. Then bought a new case and power supply (Antec SLK3700BQE) and a new mobo DFI NF3. Worked fine. But I would like to know what causes this. If you boot into safe mode, you will see something called VGAsave instead of your drivers.

Well leaving the battery out didn't fixed it, so I unhooked everything and it work. After hooking up everything back up one thing at a time and testing it, it all works fine now. I guess something was just loose.
