I am building my first computer. I thought it was all hooked up correctly, but when I turn it on, I get no video. The monitor flashes "signal missing." I tried my old video card, and the same thing occured. Can someone help me?

Thanks,
Fred

What are your system specifications, including power supply? Does it get a post beep or any other beeps Are you using pci or agp video card?I had a problem with an nf7s motherboard, first the power supply woudn't supply enough juice on bootup. I also booted up with a pci video card and got no video till I changed the setting in the bios to diable the agp.

I am installing the following parts:

ASUS SE Deluxe motherboard
AMD64 3000+ CPU
1024MB of DDR Ram
Saphire 9800 Pro video card

1. When I turn on the power in the back, a green light turns on on the motherboard.
2. Wen I had the floppy and DVD/CDRom hooked up, when I turned on the power and hit the power button, the drives responded, but I got no signal on my monitor and no beeps.
3. I recently disconnected everything, including removed the motherboard. I reseated the memory, CPU and video card. Then I hooked up the power. When I turned the computer on, still no video signal.

Do you think the mother board is bad? DO you have any other suggestions? Will neewegg give me a new motherboard?

Thanks

If you have a PCI video card lying around somewhere, check in the BIOS is AGP is enabled as the default display... thingy.

I tried putting in my PCI video card, but the monitor did not respond to that either. However, i know the card works because I am using the PCI card right now to type this message.
