sb live

i removed all things except for video card and even changed ddr ram slots and tried 3 different video cards (2 pci and the agp card) and i still get no video. i tried different moniters and still no go. i reset the bios and everything. please give suggestions . thanx

Have you swapped out the video cable? I once had a similar problem and pulled ALL the cards till I figured out some of the monitor cable pins were bent.

If you have 2 of the same, it should be VERY easy to figure out, by process of elimination, what isn't working.. Just make sure to take your time, don't rush, keep notes and put stickers on the items (mb, cards, ram, etc) that you know function correctly at the moment so as to avoid confusion when cross-testing..

my friend said it mihgt just be a dead mobo... u know how abit does that alot. ram is fine... video is fine... sound and network doint need to be in... i dont want to take out the proc. these things still crush? their never screwed.. im thinking its a settin on my board. plz help! tkz!

If you think it's the mobo, try the components and cables that do work from the other machine and connect them to the one you're not sure if it's dead or not. Run the same hd that boots from the good machine in the bad one and try that. If you still get problems then it is probably the mobo.

Or as stated above, try the process of elimination with each card, ram, and other component and go from there. Something will show up and you will have to replace a cable or a component.

You will have to swap cpu's... at least place the cpu from the dead machine onto the live one... could be the cpu .. 🙁

wtf is with this! i swapped ram and it got no video on my good computer and swapped back the original and still no video. i swapped slots reset bios and still didnt work. i decided to try one more time and it worked. maybe if i just swap around components it will eventually work like this machine... its so messed up

also if i swap cpus i dont wanna screw up the comp that works fine... and plus i dont have any thermal paste. i used the thermal pad and then i wont have any thing to put between hsf and cpu

i got the ram in dimm slot 1 but im gettin an error that ddr dimm modules should be set from dimm 4 to dimm1 by orders. i move the ram to dimm4 and i dont get a signal. these is strange...

alright i moved the ram back to dimm1 and im not gettin video anymore. its like theres no signal going throuhg! please help!!!

You've got problems (the computer, not you). It's obviously not the video, so it's probably the motherboard.
