No video on a Divx movie

Specifically Southpark the Movie. I get audio but no picture. I downloaded the newest version of DIVX. What's wrong? Thanks.

wrong codec. even though you say you have the newest version, it is most certainly the codec. i would uninstall and reinstall. make sure you tell divx 4.x to play 3.x content. it also may not be divx video, so do a search for a codec pack with various other ones

This is quite vague. We need to know what software you're using to rip the dvd, encode the audio and/or video. You should also tell us the method you're using to encode (i.e. flask, or Xmpeg, or nandub, or GordianKnot+avisynth, or VirtualDub+VFAPI, etc...) The best guides you can find (IMHO) for DivX encoding are at doom9's website. You can also try searching his forum as well as DivX.com's forum for answers.

I just got the nemo pack, but it was emailed to me so I dont know where to dl it. I guess it would be up on all the big divx sites so you should check there.

I never encoded it. I downloaded it off of Morpheus. 😉

I have SMR.

I remember there used to be a fun-filled pack of codecs for download...but i forget exactly what.

All help is appreciated, thanks!

Try playing it in VirtualDub then. It'll usually reconstruct the missing index block if it isn't screwed up too bad. If it can't then I'm not sure what to tell ya. How big is the file? Maybe someone didn't encode the video as a prank?

But, yeah try reinstalling the codec. However, I don't think that (assuming you still have DivX 3.11alpha installed) letting DivX 4.02 play 3.xx files would make any difference. If it stills doesn't work after that, right click in media player and hit properties to see if a video renderer shows up.

I can't imagine why someone would not want to encode SP movie with DivX. And most other codecs should auto download in media player.

Anyway you can try looking Here:.
