I got a HP digital camera that i purchased recently . I have lost the USB cable , there are a few good deals out there for the Dazzle multimedia reader . So i was wondering is that the only option i have as it seems as though that a USB is not sold seperately anywhere.

Doh! I still have my cable but I never use it. nor do I use the software that came with my hp camera..
I use a card reader. similar to the one you described.
That would be the only option I know of and it works well
good luck

What's the USB interface on the camera look like? This page displays a few USB types, and if you can match the interface, I'm sure you can find an online store that sells a generic version of the cable.

On the other hand, there are some pretty cheap reader deals so that may end up being cheaper. Good luck.

edit: Cablestogo.com seems to carry a few of the rarer miniB interface cables. But after looking at prices, I'd recommend the reader. :)

Just go and buy the reader...it so much easier than hooking your camera up all the time...IMHO

Go with StockJock - forget the cable and get a reader. I am on my 5th digicam and the last time I ever used a cable was in 1998. A reader/writer is the ticket - faster, neater and always ready without any impact on the camera and zero need for so-called camera software.

If you need the cable to sell the camera or something, I have seen some on Ebay.
