Whoa....does that mean major discounts on V5 Cards? They have good enough drivers already, so it might be a great deal to actually be able to pick them up.

There will be no new drivers at all!

Ack! Damn 3dfx, they never even bothered to write V2 drivers that work under DX7 and Athlons.🙁 Seriously though, this sucks; there are still many V2 and V3 users out there, and it's sad to see them lose their driver updates.:|

PS The Wicked GLs probably won't be affected; they aren't paid for by 3dfx in any way, so I'm sure that we'll see at least a new driver revision for any future Q3 based games

my first real video card was a TNT (still got it) and I've never been a huge fan of 3dfx but this still sux. Anyone who thinks that 3dfx going under is a good thing is fooling them self. We need someone to keep Nvidia on there toes and prices down. Never been a huge fan but it's still really sad to see them go out like this.

Well, the few times I've needed tech support from any company has always resulted in responses that are too vague to be worthwhile. Boards like this are the best tech support anywhere.

My Voodoo5 will be fine for at least a year, after that who knows? Simply put, I'm not worried.

Yeah, now that Matrox, Ati and Nvidia got alone... matrox is a bit slow on 3D gaming... so Ati might do all the work to keel Nvidia in their places... but still... Nvidia has THE power now.... what a crap...
