I rented it last weekend and honestly, I didn't think it was that good. The production values are good but the game is too short and too easy. It's mostly just jumping around. Hardly any enemies or puzzles to deal with. It seems to borrow a lot from other recent titles (Okami, Mirror's Edge, Assassin's Creed) but I felt that didn't really work well for it. It's not a bad game but It's definitely not as good as what the reviewers have given it. IGN's reader average pegs it at 7.2, much lower than the 9.3 they gave it. I peg it around 6.5 or 7. I think it would have made more sense as a $20-$30 PSN/XBL title rather than a full on $60 boxed version. My suggestion to anybody considering picking it up to rent it first. It seems like something you're either going to love or hate.

I would have to give this game a solid 8. There are many differenced from the previous games in the series but I think the main reason the reviews were rather good was from the use of cell shading. "Its just different" Its not a hack and slash fighting style like the previous installments which may or may not be to your taste. I personally liked the older fighting system from the Sands series. This one is also good just different.

I thought the story was well done, but would have to agree on the length being too short (finished it in about 12 hrs could have been significantly longer had I tried to collect all the light orbs). There isn't much for you to do when you finish the game so i would have to say that it's is def worth a rental but i would have to think twice about a full price purchase.

Hopefully they build on this for any sequal that could be in the works.

maybe if they gave you rewards for collecting all the light orbs maybe then. but all u need them for is to unlock area x... no realy value in getting them all expect for achievments..

May get it when it hits 15 bucks. Not really a 60 buck game. Not that its bad, but not worth the premium.

Just finished PoP, and I thought it was a good one time playthrough, in the same way some movies are only really good the first time you see them. You can add my vote to the rent don't buy column. As others said, it just does not have much in the way of replay value. After finishing I didn't feel compelled to do anything else. The achievements were not the "fun to get" variety, they just felt incidental to completing the game.

I don't think you can die, so I see where the comments about it being easy come from. There is no penalty for borking a mini game button masher in a boss battle. At worst, they get some health bar back. The saving grace of what would otherwise be a very dull fight, is stringing together the right combos for the right boss. And perfecting your parry and counter is more rewarding then button mashing too.

The Crackdown style cell shading looks good, and the witty banter between the prince and princess has some comical moments. The guy is a player, and she is a virgin, so it is a tried and true formula being followed.

Time to exchange it for some Afro Samurai hack&slashing, all this games combat system did, was make me long for some.

PoP was entertaining at first, but then it quickly became repetitive, with the gameplay being little more than watered down platforming and timed button presses. Also, the ending was horrible.
