I'm working on someones computer and I can't seem to fix a weird problem in their graphics settings. The usual tabs (background, screensaver, settings, etc) are not there.
The system is a Dell with intergrated graphics (845 chipset). I used both the Dell driver and one from Intel with the same result, nothing works. The card shows a problem in device manager, code 37 - windows cannot initilize the device driver.
The person told me that they think the computer might have been subject to a power surge or some other electrical event.

UPDATE - For those interested, I did a repair install of windows after noticing other problems with the OS.
