no system rating

Win 7 Ultimate. After BSOD in running prime95 after setting FSB to 235 (x15), I no longer have access to get my system rating. Any way to get it back, and run the assessment?

And, yes...after the BSOD, I tuned my overclock back down to 230 and ran P95 for the rest of the day with no problems.

Come to think of it, I MIGHT have been running the windows system rating AND P95 at the same time before the BSOD.

While your system was instable it probably corrupted some files.

Return system to stock settings and retry. If no luck yet, keep system at stock, do a clean OS install, image that partition as a backup measure, then proceed to overclock so in the even of future corruption you have the backup to restore.

Thank you both. I will try the stock settings, and go from there. I JUST did clean install a couple weeks ago...but if need to, I will again.

Yeah it's a pain... I set a system up completely, then image the OS partition, then o'c, then immediately run memtest86+ & Prime95... if either doesn't run long before errors then even if new milder o'c settings seem stable, I still restore the backup just in case to be sure that if anything is wrong in the future I can try to rule out corruption vs o'c.

On the other hand, having that backup brings peace of mind for recovery from more than just o'c related problems. It is windows...

well...looks like either a repair or reinstall 🙁 IF I decide to do it.

Setting back to stock didn't work, but to be honest, I know that I had like 7.2 or 7.3, so good enough for me...no other "hiccups" in the system at all, other than every now and then when I power down, it takes FOREVER, and I am impatient so I use the power button.

Now...on to my next project...updating my video card for BF3 🙂
