No Such Thing as 2007FPW/2407FPW/3007FPW

I wanted to make it clear to everyone than there is no such thing as a 2007FPW/2407FPW/3007FPW Dell changed the FPW ( Flat Panel Wide ) to WFP ( Wide Flat Panel ). My guess is FPW was more of a temporary name as they already called there Non-Widescreen Displays FP ( Flat Panel ).

Proof:
2007WFP
2407WFP
3007WFP

I know this thread is basically worthless but I keep seeing people make this mistake quiet often in sigs and my machine pages.

Update: I have found out some intresting information when hitting the "Customize It" button it displays 2007FPW and 2407FPW while the 30'' doesn't

Example:
2007FPW
2407FPW
3007WFP

I've noticed this before, Dell definitely refers to the same monitors with WFP or FPW. Why this exists? I have no idea. Maybe it has something to do with the firmware revision?

Seeing as how Dell refers to the monitor by either name, there is not reason to worry about others doing the same. In fact, I would argue that 2007FPW IS the correct name since you can't actually purchase a 2007WFP from Dell (at least it won't show up in your cart under that name). Go ahead, try to add a 2007WFP to your cart. Let me know if you're able to get it to show up in your cart as a 2007WFP.

from reading this thread you understand that it's supposed to be WFP and looks like a pure mistake that when you configure them the name changed to FPW.

Dell should get on top of this though

I've always said fpw. It made sense.

FP is just Flat Panel. Then you have FPW. Flat Panel now Wide.

I refuse to call it a wfp. I like fpw better.

Sticker on mine says FPW, its an FPW. Just because they change the name well over a year after I bought it, doesnt mean the name of mine has changed.

I too like FPW better. Why change it? F is first in the alphabet, then P... then W too. Even makes more sense in that aspect.

But you don't say "hey there buddy, nice flat panel wide". You say "wide flat panel", in proper English. Not that we speak based off model numbers anyway, but I'm just throwing a theory out there.

Maby in other languages it's reversed???

Your right they should make it priority number one. 😛

I am betting this thread goes longer than that stupid "Is the 7950GX2 a single card?" thread.

Honestly, even the Dell reps don't have a clue. I just ordered 35 2007FPW's a couple weeks ago after spending nearly a month with the rep to get the quotes right to include the 2007 20.1 Wide Screen. 4 or 5 times he quoted the standard aspect screen.

Why you ask? Not because the 2007FPW doesn't exist (at the time it did and I did a cut'n'paste right from their website), but because the item part name shows Dell UltraSharp 2007FP Flat Wide-Screen LCD. Notice - it says 2007FP...

Correct also. In latin based languages (spanish, italian, portuguese) the adjective comes after the object/subject.

well I actually say "that's a nice wide screen". I don't even mention the flat part.

Not to pile on... 😀

Dell website in Canada lists the 2407 as 2407FPW on the main selection page. I remember this in another thread recently. I think I puchased a 2407WFP, but now I'm not too sure... 😛
