No sound

Hey i just started up my new computer. built it myself. but i dont get any sound when i run movies files. mgeps and stuff. I get sound from winamp and stuff. i know the file is ok becasue it plays with sound on my old computer. can anyone think of any codecs that i might be missing and where to get them?

use codec in the search and one of them should have a link to a codec pack.

Personally, I recommend Media Player Classic from sourceforge.net
