No sound when I play dvds

Hi, I just bought a new toshiba dvd rom and I have a hollywood plus dvd card installed. I installed the newest drivers and software. However, when I play dvds i cannot get any sound. I checked my 'line in' to see if it was muted and it is not. Everything seems to be set up properly. What's wrong?

Oh yeah, I have a Santa Cruz sound card.

have you got the sound cable going from your dvd drive to your sound card, and then another cable from you sound card to the hollywood. i think it works out like that. well, you need audio cables anyhow...

Thanks ukDave! I had the cable already connected from my dvd card to my sound card. However, I checked again to make sure and I found out it was loose! Go figure...i feel like a dumb ass. Thanks for your help! All is good!
