It's been happening a lot. I always use Firefox 3.x, but lately Youtube videos are silent unless I open IE. What can I do to fix this? WTF? TIA.

Link? I'm having trouble finding it. I have Shockwave Flash installed, whatever that is. Hard to believe this is happening. I'd think that FF 3 would be reasonably supported now, at least that I'd be prompted to install. Is this a plugin, extension, addon, ?

Adobe Test site for Flash/Shockwave, It will check for the latest versions of both.

I downloaded and installed:

Authorware_Web_Player_Plugin.exe

Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exe

Still have no Youtube sound in Firefox 3.0.3. Haven't rebooted or closed/reopened Firefox, but got no messages to do so.

Should have been install_flash_player & Shockwave_Installer_Slim. I have never installed them with either IE7 or Firefox running, It has never allowed me to.

You can also do "about: plugins" (Should be together) in Firefox and it will bring up a page that shows you all the plugins installed and whether they are working properly or not.

Check for:
Shockwave for Director : File name: np32dsw.dll
Shockwave Flash : File name: NPSWF32.dll
