Hi all.
I have just put together a PC with the above motherboard but for the life of me can't get any audio output.
I installed the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio controller software from the Asus CD but still can not hear anything.
The driver is enabled and reports as working properly and the radio button under it's properties is checked to use audio features on this device.
Everything checks out as fine but i must be missing something.

Can anyone help? Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

There's a set of pins on the motherboard that are for cases that have audio jacks on their front bezel. If you're not using any such front-audio jacks then the header should have a couple of jumpers on it to route the audio to the rear jacks instead. The motherboard *should* come set up with the jumpers in place, but double-check that. The owner's manual should show the FP_AUDIO header and the pins that need jumpers. If you run into any trouble, post another message and I'll find a diagram or photo for you. Welcome to the forums art73 :)

You were right. The jumpers were not there and now i have sound after putting them on the appropriate positions. One thing though. Is there no way of having both the front and rear audio outputs active at the same time?
Also another question regarding the front USB ports on the case. The wires that come from the USB ports don't seem to have any correlation to the diagram in the manual to connect them to the mobo.
Has anyone had success in connecting them??
Thanks again!
