no sound DVD

When I play audio CD,the sound works perfectly. However, when I play a DVD, there is no sound to be played. I checked drivers, hardware, and headphones. The problem persists, with no drawback to audio quality on the computer files, but no sound whatsoever with the DVD.

It almost sounds like a codec problem. Find out which codec the DVD audio uses and then download and install that codec.

Had the same problem myself. Codec sorted it.

Same here. Codec problems are usually the root of audio problems with video playback.
