No sound after video card install

HP a6000n desktop with 6150 geforce onboard. I attempted to add a galaxy geforce gt 440 and after the driver install I had no sound. Sound is basic set of speakers connected via standard sound jack to green audio port. After removing the card and drivers and going to back to the onboard it was fine. Would like to know what about the discrete card or drivers kiboshed the sound.

Your sound might be diverting to the HDMI out on your 6150. Just go to your audio control and change your audio output to your onboard sound. I'm at work with crappy XP so I can't give you better directions.

The gt440 is the card with the hdmi output and what you suggested is something I checked. When i went into the sound properties hardware section it showed nothing.
