No soda? So then what?

...no beer isn't a valid option.

I'm trying to cut back on soda hard-core... I used to drink several cans a day, now I'm down to 1, and I'm trying to even limit that. But I find myself wanting something more than just water with lunch or w/ snacks at night. It seems EVERYTHING you drink besides water is "Bad for you"... but WTH am I supposed to drink with my pretzels and other snacks?

If the soda you drank had caffine, try drinking 1 a day of those. Let's say for dinner?

I drink gatorade, tea, water, kool aid. Anything sweet and quenching.

For pretzels I would just drink like sunny D or gatorade.

I love the sugar, so as long as it has that I keep drinking it.

The caffine has no affect on me... so I don't worry about missing out on that. KoolAid and the like are horrible for you... more sugar than most sodas 🙁

I used to drink tons of soda but i stoped cold turkey. its been about 4 or 5 months now and i dont even crave it.

I drink lots of water now. and if i want something a little different I drink vitamin water.

now i gotta figure out a way to cut down on coffee...

Virtually all drinks (except water) have lots of sugar. Deal with it and move on with your life. Have one less bite of dinner to make up for all the calories you drink throughout the day.

Just drink water. Thats all I drink, no sugar, no caffeine. After a while you'll not only get used to it, you'll crave it. I easily drink over a gallon a day.

I have the same issue. My caffeine consumption makes for a night of tossing & turning sometimes. I went out and bought several cans of frozen juice. Now I'm down to 2 coffees and 1 pop per day, pretty much. Been sleeping a little better.

And I'll bet you're in the pisser every 5 mins! I would be!

I like crystal light, no sugar, and only like 5 calories per serving. Although it's got the fake sugar stuff which some people say is bad for you.

Yeah more often than usual, but its not that bad. I would say the benefits outweigh the semi-annoying aspect of having to go to the pisser more often.

let me redefine here... its not the calories or the caffine I'm trying to avoid... its the sugars and the carbination in soda that is killing me (or moreso my teeth... and yes I brush 🙂)

I love my salty snacks like pretzels and chips... but water and pretzels sucks 😛 Tea is a good idea, and once winter hits I have more warm drinks to choose from too. Apple juice, grape juice, gaterade is a great idea (DUH!)... I dont enjoy the orange juice, unless it comes with hasbrowns, 3 eggs and some bacon on the side

qft...they have as much or more than soda. Even gatorade isn't that great from that aspect...

Drink tea or water, or Crystal Light. Or Coke Zero.

juice, milk, water and tea
Juice that is not labeled "Lite" and without sorbital. Preferably with a minimum of corn syrup.

Milk without the hormones rBGH or rBST (Oberweiss and Horizon) and Organic (Horizon).

Filtered water, because if you think tap water is good for you then you have not considered the number of polluting companies in your area or you naively believe in your local municipality's ability to process water perfectly for your health. Purchase a water filter for your kitchen sink. It will be a good investment and you will notice the change in taste.

Brown or green tea from filtered water that has been properly boiled. Darjeeling and Ceylon teas are my favorite.

i used to think caffine had no effect on me, then i quit all caffine for a week and got bad head aches for a few days. Now I drink iced tea instead of soda.

Actually I give up soda once a year for Lent (/me waits for anti-religous zealot flames)... its hard to do, but more psychologically. Honestly caffine doesn't affect me at all. I could drink 4 Mt. Dews and 3 cups of coffee and go right to bed. My wife will swear by this

they all have TONS of sugar/high fructose corn syrup unless you buy the 100% all nautural kind and read the label.

As much as you hate hearing it, drink some water! I throw in a bit of lime juice to make it taste a bit better. Also, you could try limiting your the amt you drink. Have say 1 beer with pretzels instead of 2,3,4 whatever. Cutting all of this stuff cold turkey is HARD so you'd better allow for some acclimation and possible cheating.
