No signal!!

Ok.. I have a problem.

I just installed my ASUS P5K Premium, Q6600, and my trsusty 8800GTX, but there's a problem.

After about 1 min my monitor says "No signal". After another minute with that big grey box in the middle if the screen, the monitor restarts and it goes away.

The thing is that I have a signal. I can work in the background, but still, I have that stupid grey box in the middle of the screen.

I have absolutely no idea.
Now.. My old MB died this weekend, so i don't know if the vid card is bad as well..

If you have any thoughts, please let me know..

Turn on my pc today and the same thing happens, just like you described. I got the same screen you have. Did you figure out what is causing this to happen??? Is it the screen it self or the GPU??? Please let me know ASAP!
 
Unplug the monitor power cable for a few seconds and then plug it back in. That seems to fix it. 🙂

I've had the same problem with multiple video cards on the same lcd (acer x241w).
