No signal to monitor

P5W DH Deluxe Mobo
BFG 7900GT GPU
Seagate Barracuda SATA HD
Mushkin XP2 PC2-6400 2G (2x1 gb) 4-4-3-10 ram
Samsung 931 BF LCD TFT
BENQ DVD Writer
Mitsumi Floppy Drive

All cables connected to their proper connectors, and double checked. Upon boot, all fans are running (cpu, gpu, 2 chasis). Power light on mobo is on, LED on front of case is on.

The monitor cycles through checking digital and analog connections (my assumption is the connection i have is digital), then tells me to check signal cable, with analog at the bottom of the box.

I don't want to jump to crazy conclusions, but is my gpu not sending a signal (ie, screwed?)

thanks in advance

Do you have a CRT to plug in and try to boot up? My widescreen LCD did not like it when I had the resolution set wonky. This is probably not the issue, but you never know. Also, have you tried both DVI sockets on he GPU?

I have tried with both crt and lcd monitors, in both of the gpu's connection sockets. yeah, the PCI-E power is connected to the gpu. its fan is running fine, just no signal.

Try a crappy PCI video card and see if it displays or try that video card in a different system. Seems to be a common symptom if your card is DOA.

I have a simular problem.
ati x1900xt 512mb
Just built a new system.
Gigabyte ga-965-s3 (lga775)
intel core 2 duo 6400
antec smartpower 500w
mushkin ddr2 667 2x1gb
hanns 19" widescreen lcd monitor

At startup fans work. vidio card connection light comes on
No vidio to monitor, just black screen.
I have analog from monitor with DVI adaptor to comp
No light on key board
no speaker so no post beeps
Tried setting up outside case to check for a short got the same results.
Had a rosewell heatsink and fan on it to start with. When I'd turn the comp on it would start to go and stop until I gave the fan a little spin, then it would start. Replaced it with stock heatsink and fan and Had 2 or 3 second delay before the fan would start.
I'm thinking Power Supply OK Motherboard BAD

Any help would be appreciated
